meadow and mark

After a long period of dormancy, the Meadow + Mark shop has finally ‘reopened’ !

I’ve started small, but have been slowly adding new things, (seems like a rate of about 1 item a day this week), so check in now and then if you feel so inclined. There is likely to be a mix of vintage, one of a kind hand work, and supplies from my studio as I work to clean it out of excess.

I have always had a bigger plan for M+M, which I think may finally be shaping up (excitement contained!). I hope to be able to share something with you all in the next few months.

Have a great day! It’s feeling so much like spring here.

Just added a couple new things to each shop.

Over at infusion there is a new day pack in vintage military canvas and leather – I LOVE this leather; and a new wool herringbone pencil pouch (okay I LOVE this herringbone too!).

At Meadow + Mark there is rad little pair of woven leather lace-ups – wish I was a size 7! – and an accordion style peg rack.

I know it has been pretty quiet around here. Some exciting things have been happening over here for infusion. Like REALLY exciting. I will share more soon.

We have started choosing seeds for this year’s garden. I love this phase of planning. So many possibilities! The catalog laying open on the table is from Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds. I  highly recommend checking them out. All the seeds they offer are heirloom varieties and there is so much to choose from. I wish melons grew better here because their heirloom melon selection is huge, and we are big melon heads.

A favorite treat lately has been sun dried tomatoes. We bought a pound of organic sundried tomatoes recently. They were salt preserved (instead of toxic sulfur) so after soaking in water for a couple hours, and then rinsing a few times, they are not too salty. Then we store them in olive oil, a pint jar at a time, and enjoy them on home made toasted bread, pasta, salads, grain dishes – so yummy! And the extra olive oil is delicious as well, infused with sundried tomato flavor.

I have finally managed to add a few things to meadow + mark. “Soon” is a relative term I guess. I know I had mentioned a shop update was coming “soon” quite some time ago. The leather backpack sold within minutes of listing it today. I know there was a lot of interest in it, so I’m sorry to any of you who missed out.

Also, I added a new tote to the infusion shop. I got some super nice pure wool herringbone in a couple weeks ago. Very happy with it. It’s very soft yet sturdy. I am thinking it would make a really nice skirt, if I could ever find the time. There is one in navy coming soonish as well.

Enjoy the weekend everyone.

There are high hopes for a meadow + mark update soon. A few peeks of some of those items above, and a photo in honor of my dear friend coffee. Oh, dear coffee, you make my mornings so sweet.

I started running in the morning these last few days, and I am hoping to make it a regular thing for a while. The past month has been like no other, with huge amounts of time spent in my studio working (and I am so grateful for the work!!). A lot of this time is pretty sedentary, and none of this time is outdoors. By nature, I am a pretty active person who loves to be outdoors, and a new balance has definitely been in order. I have woken many mornings these past couple weeks, craving to go out and run around, breathe heavily, sweat and get rosy cheeked. Feels awesome! What’s your favorite physical activity to get your heart pumping?

(okay, I just couldn’t help myself on the title!)

Hey there. I hope you’re enjoying the weekend. Just got a few new items up in the shops.

I’ve been working on some Rucksacks and Day Packs, which I hope to have finished tonight. It’s been super dark and cloudy and rainy (no gardening for me!), so photographing will have to wait until the skies clear a bit.

We’re excited about this Geometry Tote. It’s one of a kind, made with a super awesome geometric vintage upholstery fabric and leather.

ciao for now. Be back soon.

I did a little bit of sewing for myself the other day, and added some tweed elbow patches to a cashmere sweater of mine. This concept isn’t a new one, but it seems to be revitalized these days and I’ve come across it online a few times over the last few months. When I was little I often saw my dad in sports coats with leather elbow patches and I have had a fondness for it ever since. There is something both practical and playful about it – and it makes a simple sweater or jacket seem a bit smarter, don’t you think?

I enjoyed the hand sewing; it’s been a while; and I went on to dig out a few things I haven’t worn much, to see if maybe a new life with patches would renew them. I’ll be offering a few of these things at meadow + mark soon. Maybe even some cashmere. The vintage L.L. Bean cardigan is one I found just a few days ago. The patches are leather and the sweater is camel hair and lambs wool. Very cozy.  It’s available now, as are a few other things I added this week.

Have a great weekend everyone. I’ll be working in the garden as much as I can. The weeds have gone crazy with all the rain we’ve had. And, this might be a funny bit of news if you have never heard of vermiculture,  but we harvested our first tray of worm castings this week and fed it to all our plants. Our worms must be pretty happy because they are devouring our kitchen scraps and having worm babies like crazy!

Some new items at meadow + mark this week. Check out le shoppe if you like.

OH, and we found the mother lode of hand made vintage wooden items this week! Oh my gosh we were so excited we probably seemed a little bit silly in the shop. Myrtlewood, walnut, almond, teak. Most likely a hobbyists collection. We’ll keep a few things for our home. I think I want to keep it all, but I will show some restraint.

I hope you’re having the best of weekends.
